Three people, including a student, were shot in separate incidents over the weekend in south Trinidad.
In the first case, Marcus Thompson, 33, was shot at his New Grant home on Sunday, after being called outside by three men.
According to reports, Thompson told police he was asleep at his Hindustan Road, New Grant, home around 5.30 am, when he heard someone calling out his name.
He opened his front door and was accosted by three men, one armed with a gun.
During an argument with the men, Thompson was shot in his right shoulder.
The men then fled.
Thompson was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he remains warded in stable condition.
In the second incident, a 20-year-old student was liming at Seon’s Bar on Royal Road, San Fernando, around 4 am on Sunday, when he was approached by a man with a gun.
The pair began arguing and during the fracas the student was shot in his right foot. The suspect then ran away.
The victim was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
In the third incident, a hunter from Moruga was shot by a trap gun on Sunday.
Nigel Nelson, 35, was hunting in Edward Trace, Moruga, with friends when the incident happened.
It is unclear where Nelson was shot, but he is currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in stable condition.
